Fur Babies

Hubby and I have two cats that are the closest thing to children that we have.  And really they are our children—-we love them unconditionally, clean up their messes, break up their fights, make them home cooked meals (I’ll post about our homemade cat food soon!), and let them snuggle in our beds.

I adopted Maya about six months after moving to Seattle.  She was just a tiny, little kitten when I found her at Animal Talk Rescue-it is a wonderful, no-kill rescue that has staff that love animals.  She is now almost 10 years old and is still as sassy as ever.  She has a big personality for being a wee-little thing.  And she is so lovable and always comforts me whenever I need it.

Maya-sweet little kitty!

We (hubby and I) adopted our second fur baby, Bode, this past November.  Again, he came from Animal Talk rescue.  Bode is a sweet, lovable cat and being only a year and a half, full of energy.  He loves to antagonize Maya, play with all of his toys and follow us wherever we go.

Bode-rambunctious and fun kitty!

Maya still hasn’t come around to loving Bode, but I think they would be lonely without each other.  We are glad to have both Maya and Bode, they make us a family of four for the time being…..

  1. Just stumbled upon your blog. Your kitties are lovely! Ours don’t really love one another either, but for pretending to be so against the other, they are ALWAYS in the same room together. 🙂 I think they secretly love one another’s company!
