Hooray!

Morning from sunny Seattle!  Just a quick post to let you all know, I passed my three-hour glucose tolerance test!!!  I was anticipating that I would have gestational diabetes, but luckily, I do not.  However, it was a wake-up call that I probably do not need to eat ice cream every. single. night.  And chocolate, and cookies, and mocktails when we go out for dinner.

Here are my results:

Fasting glucose:  80 (Normal range 65-94)

1 hour glucose draw:  139 (Normal range 65-179)

2 hour glucose draw:  117 (Normal range 65-154)

3 hour glucose draw:  95 (Normal range 65-139)

The nursery is finally coming along, we’ve gone with an aqua/teal and grey theme.  My mother-in-law helped me pick out some fabric last week and she has made us window coverings and pillows.  I’ll post pictures soon.

We were also very fortunate to meet up with photographer Mariana Kajlich for some pregnancy photos a few weeks ago on a sunny, warm Wednesday evening.  She was so much fun to work with and she took some amazing photos, I will post some of them as well.

Hubby planned a weekend getaway this upcoming weekend to Vancouver, BC.  I’m excited to eat some good food and maybe get a little shopping in.  It’ll be our last getaway before the little ones arrive in July.

I hope all of you had a nice Mother’s Day.  I know it can be a very tough day when you are in the throes of infertility.  I know it was always a bittersweet day for me, I have a wonderful Mom that I love to celebrate, but I longed for the day that I would be a Mom.  Hubby was very thoughtful, he gave me a sweet card from himself and gave me a card/teddy bear and earrings that he presented from the soon-to-arrive girls.  I’m not sure being pregnant counts as being a “Mom”, but it’s the closest I’ve ever been.

xoxo

  1. Oh what wonderful news! You seem to be just about perfect by the third hour, so I say if not every night, maybe ice cream every other night. : )

  2. Great news! And what a relief! I’m so nervous about mine, which will be in a couple of weeks now. Looking forward to seeing your maternity pics and the photos of the nursery!

    • Thank you. I’m sure you’ll be fine. I had a lot of friends who failed the 1 hour, but also passed the 3 hour. I fasted even before my 1 hour, but I guess even that wasn’t enough. 🙂 Good luck to you!
